orbit_63
A typographic system for a sci-fi universe – Typeface Design.
Typography can provide orientation. Or open up new spaces. Orbit 63 is a typeface design inspired by technical lettering, industrial markings, and the aesthetics of space exploration and architecture. A typeface that feels as if it were developed for systems — precise, functional, and futuristic.
Approach
Form follows structure.
The starting point of the design was the idea of a modular character system. The letterforms are based on constructed shapes and clearly defined radii, reminiscent of technical blueprints and industrial signage. The result is a typeface that feels both mechanical and rhythmic.
Implementation
Typography as a system.
The characters were developed as a consistent geometric system. Open forms, reduced line structures, and precise transitions create a strong visual identity. Orbit 63 reveals its full potential in large-scale applications — such as architecture, signage, motion design, or graphic systems.
Outcome
A typeface for new spaces.
– distinctive display typeface with a futuristic character
– constructed character system with a technical aesthetic
– strong visual impact in large-scale applications
– a connection between architecture, technology, and typography
